I have had an iPod for many year now and constantly use iTunes to not only buy songs but also copy them off of either friend's computer or CDs. Personally I will continue to use iTunes because I have been using it for so long. However, I can also see the benefits of Napster too. Both companies have similar opportunities for their clients, and each is unique from one another. They both have regular updates so new releases and are accessible in many different forms. I think iTunes will still continue to be the leading competitor between the two for a couple reasons. One being iTunes not only offers songs, you are also able to download music videos, TV shows, and movie. Another reason is that for Napster you have to pay a monthly charge for the service, where iTunes you just pay as you go, or want new material. The final reason is that so many people know about iTunes over Napster. I did not know about Napster until this posting.
I think music in itself is healing. It's an explosive expression of humanity. It's something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we're from, everyone loves music.
~ Billy Joel
I agree with you, so many more people know about iTunes over Napster. I thought Napster was long gone when everyone got in trouble for illegally downloading through them. I too like iTunes overall even though I have never used napster I think it's mostly because that's what I am used to and like to just stick with what I'm comfortable with.
